Long Island Book Talk | A Conversation with Tiffany

Tiffany can be found on Instagram @books.with.tiff.

Gina: Please tell me a little bit about yourself.

Tiffany: Hi, my name is Tiffany. I’m 25 years old! I am from Long Island, and I am an Intelligence Analyst. I recently got engaged! I’m a big reader, and I mostly read romance, thrillers, and fantasy. I love traveling. One of my biggest trips has been a month and a half cross country camping trip which will forever be the best trip I’ve taken. One place I have on my bucket list is Alaska. I am hoping to visit all the national parks and see all different types of wildlife!

G: Why did you create your Bookstagram account?

T: I decided to create this account to find more people to share my love for books with. I didn’t have many people to talk or share my thoughts with, so this community really let me do that.

G: Did you start this as a hobby? Has it developed into a part time/ full time job?

T: This is definitely a hobby. I enjoy doing this and making content.

G: What are you currently reading?

T: I am currently reading Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros and Heartless by Elsie Silver.

G: Do you find making content on Long Island easy or difficult?

T: I find making content on Long Island easy.

G: What is your favorite thing about Bookstagram?

T: My favorite thing about Bookstagram would be all the new friends I have made and all the new books and authors I have discovered.

G: As you have gained more followers, how has your perspective changed regarding social media?

T: By gaining more followers, I feel like my perspective changed in a way that I can post what I want without feeling like I’m being judged. People that follow me enjoy what I post, and if they didn’t, they would unfollow and that’s okay.

G: Do you consider a free book “payment” or do you prefer to receive something in exchange for a post?

T: I usually post my reviews because I finished a book on my own and want to share my thoughts with everyone. There are times I get ARCs from authors; it’s amazing, and they do deserve an honest review!

G: What is something that has surprised you since creating your account?

T: Since creating my account, what surprised me was how welcoming this community is and how much you can truly be yourself.

G: What do you hope people will get from your page?

T: I hope when people see my page that they get positive vibes and feel welcomed. That they know they have someone to always talk to during good and bad times. When they see my page, they can see that we share the same love of books and can share our thoughts on what we read!
